Return of the LOLfaults!

After last year's epic fault poking adventure, catamount3 and couldn't help but immediately begin planning for another such journey. Those plans came to fruition this past week, when the two of us drove the San Andreas from San Francisco to San Bernardino, with stops in Parkfield and the Carrizo Plain, as well as with ventures to the Realm of Creeping Faults in Hollister and the East Bay. yami_mcmoots joined us in Berkeley to give us a geek tour of her campus, and shares the guilt for the Berkeley LOLHaywards. Which I'm sure you'd rather just plain see than hearing me talk about. So:

Hayward Fault, Hayward

Hayward Fault, Hayward

Hayward Fault, Hayward
The fault was literally on the other side of the wall from our hotel room. We didn't plan it that way.

Hayward Fault, Berkeley

Calaveras Fault, Hollister

Interpretive sign about the 1857 San Andreas Earthquake, Carrizo Plain
I'm surprised nobody's pointed out this little oversight before. It can't be too hard to fix...

If you like wildflowers, visit the Carrizo in late March or early April!

Until next time! And there will be a next time. Mwahaha!

From left to right, that's Garlock, Andreas, and Jacinto. I'm not sure if they're intrusive or extrusive, since they were quite unexpectedly…
